Next Stop on the Journey…..
Tuesday night I laid in Bed and read my charts deciding where to go next. I will stay here for a bit, get some writing done before I set sail again. I have a road trip planned with the Almighty Webmaster next month, he is going to a concert in the same area as my friends The Directionally Challenged Yankee Fan and Sylvester the Cat live, so I am going to tag along for the ride and pay them a visit.
Looking over the charts, I think the next leg will be back down the river, around Stingray Point, past Deep Rock, around Gwynn’s Island, through Hole in the Wall and make the run to New Point Comfort. That will put me close to 19 nautical miles from Hampton Roads just outside the famed “Ditch”, The Intercoastal Waterway.
Its been said, “Its not the destination but the Journey.” What a journey its been so far friends. What started as a journey through the Paradise called the Chesapeake Bay has become so much more to me. I’ve heard stories of sailors finding God on the water, heard of some that have lost themselves and even more stories of those who found themselves. I didn’t find God here friends, but I see the existence of God everywhere around me on the water. I wouldn’t say I have found myself either, I have always known who I am. But I would call it a Journey of self Re-Discovery.
Through conversations along the way, with friends old and new; The Almighty Webmaster, The Wolverine Volunteer Manicurist, The Farmer, The Directionally Challenged Yankee Fan, The Jaded Crowe, The English Teacher, Sylvester the Cat, and even Camilla the Cat throwing her two cents in once or twice a day, I have rediscovered things I had forgotten about myself.
Where will the Journey end you ask? My reply, Which One? With the Journey through Paradise, it will never end, but only change locations. The journey through the Bay will end when I cross Hampton Roads and enter the Ditch. That’s just the physical journey though.
The blog started out just about the physical journey through paradise but has transformed along the way in to a mental journey for myself. As the blog went from just being about the travel, to being more reflective and introspective, the way I look at certain things have changed. which things have changed? Well, that’s another blog in its self for another time.
Where will the Mental and Emotional Journey end? I honestly don’t think that it ever will…..
